Information from the Vintage Fashion Guild: 'Frank Usher opened for business in 1946 in London. The company's specialty was bringing high end details and fresh off the runway inspirations at a more moderate price range, emulating such designers as Ossie Clark, and often incorporating high end details such as elaborate embroidery. '
We have fallen in love with this rare original 1950's Frank Usher evening gown, in the most fabulous show-stopping thick golden yellow satin jacquard fabric with black and silvery white rose pattern. As with most Frank Usher dresses from this period, the fabric is luxurious and vibrant, with real red-carpet glamour making this frock a perfect timeless choice for the Christmas party season.
Halterneck style with double straps to tie at the back of the neck, fitted bust with straight neckline, gorgeous ruched panel around the waist and a stunning flared skirt made from over a full circle of fabric.
Fastens at the back with a plastic zip (original metal one has been replaced).
Beautifully structured frock with inbuilt bra, boning and lining, and a sheer gauze underskirt.
Labelled 'Frank Usher, London'.
A real designer collectable from the fabulous fifties, one of our prettiest vintage party frocks!
