Rare as hen's teeth, here is a truly sublime vintage 1940s summer dress and bolero jacket, unworn and complete with wartime rationing CC41 utility mark label. Kept in pristine condition by the original owner, this mustard gold suit in beautiful quality thick cotton is a real gem, and certainly one of the most stunning pieces we've been lucky enough to be able to offer.
The dress has wide shoulder straps, tie detail to the centre neckline, and fitted panelled waist. The flared skirt has vented panels to the hips each side. Fastens at the side with a Lightning metal zip.
The matching bolero has shoulder pads and elbow length sleeves, and is labelled 'Bryce Grants, Penge' (the shop the original owner bought it from), and also has a very lovely CC41 utility mark label in yellow gold thread, with 'Bijou Frock' and a stamped number.
