We recently loaned some of our summery fifties clothing and swimsuits to Vintage and Homemade Living, a new monthly magazine full of retro-related articles and tips, plus nostalgic inspiration and crafty ideas for those who like to keep their hands busy! The pictures were taken by the very talented Terry Mendoza of Retro Photostudio and the clothing was modelled by Miss Lula-Mae and Tilly.
Some of the outfits featured included our towelling 1950s sailboat printed bandeau top and capri pants, Kittiwake black sculptured bathing suit and tea green belted cotton 1950s day dress. Here are a few of the images, courtesy of Vintage and Homemade Living and Retro Photostudio.
Issue two came out on the 10th August 2012 and as well as the fabulous fifties photoshoot it also features articles on the origins of the American Diner and Margate's vintage scene, plus directions on how to make a glasses case and cute button posies. There is even a tasty retro recipe for Woolton Pie, originally created by the chef of the Savoy Hotel for its namesake Lord Woolton, WW2 head of the Ministry of Food. This is one we'll certainly be trying out!
The next issue (out on 10th September) will contain an article on Butlins, the most famous holiday camp on earth - we can't wait!
More details on this lovely new magazine and how to order your copy can be found at the Vintage and Homemade Living website.
